Graham Fuller, in a lengthy essay tries to prove that we should not blame Islam for conflicts happening in the world seemingly because of Islam. Fuller’s essay would be more interesting if it did not included some serious sophistries.

If indeed other factors would have caused similar problems to those caused by Islam, this won’t make Islam innocent. Can we say that cancer is innocent, because a man would have died by some other disease anyway?

Fuller’s essay can help on emphasizing that our main problem is ourselves, not Islam, nor any other alien factor. Ourselves are unable, for the moment, to protect our values against the barbarity of Islam.

Another dimension is totally absent from Fuller’s essay, but I think this was expected. Despite the problems of the West, at least there remains some hope, a hope which is impossible when a mind becomes so blind as to consider sacred an ideological libel like Koran.
