Education

Education, training and us

Henrik Ibsen, A Doll's House

I was reading a text about a ‘second trial’ of Socrates, as the author calls the replacement of education with training in our times.

The author doesn’t fail to see that it was this education, not our current scientific-technological training, that produced the colonial arrogance and even the two world wars and the well known atrocities.

Then, why and how can we attack our modern training-education, if the previous one, that would be rightly called education proper, has already failed even more?

Neither education, nor training seem to be our real problem; perhaps a different disease should be identified.
