Not only according to these testimonies of the Evangelists, but also according to common sense, Jesus could not have been a professional carpenter. Indeed, if He ever picked up a tool to work the wood, this could have happened only occasionally to help Joseph, not as His Profession.
I can not imagine really a business man who would say “Go sell your belongings, give them to the poor, pick up your Cross and follow me”… And it’s impossible to say for Christ that He “changed”, He left his fortune and the life of profit and turned to asceticism… I hope this is obvious and I need not say more.
The issue of the supposed occupation of Jesus is just another distortion introduced to Christianity by the religious morbidity of the western mind and especially of the Protestant one.
