This is not to suggest that this is the only aspect, or even the most important one, and we must be careful not to make too much of the dichotomy between the former Romanized populations and their German conquerors; yet it should not be ignored either, and I believe these ‘cultural traits’ have influenced and remained present in the Western subconsciousness until recently–as the Samurai spirit has penetrated an profoundly influenced modern Japanese corporate and economic life. In any event, this is a question very much worthy of study.
