Και τι θα κάνει η Σκωτία; Θα σηκωθεί να φύγει από το Ηνωμένο Βασίλειο για να παραμείνει στην Ευρώπη; Όσο για τη Γερμανία, η μπάλα τώρα βρίσκεται στα πόδια της. Πρέπει οπωσδήποτε να προχωρήσει η πολιτική ένωση της Ευρώπης.
Ο ευρωσκεπτικισμός είναι οπισθοδρόμηση. Είναι φόβος και μισαλλοδοξία. Πρέπει να τον υπερβούμε επί ποινή διασκορπισμού.
Για πρώτη φορά στη ζωή μου πιάνω τον εαυτό μου πολλές φορές να μην είναι τόσο αισιόδοξος, αλλά δεν θέλω να είμαι έτσι. Ο γέροντας Παΐσιος έλεγε ότι τη μύγα στον καλύτερο κήπο να την πας, τις ακαθαρσίες θα πάει να βρει, ενώ την πεταλούδα και στις ακαθαρσίες να την πας, αυτή ένα λουλουδάκι θα πάει να βρει. Και τα δύο είναι μέσα μας. Εγώ λαχταρώ να είμαι με την πεταλούδα. Λαχταρώ για το λουλουδάκι.
