Chateaubriant: Christianity is not a belief

Chateaubriant in his diary speaks about the meaning of Christianity. Unfortunately his knowledge (which was also the knowledge of other Catholics, such as Meister Eckhart), knowledge of the real Christianity, was not accepted by the papal government and did not manage to become mainstream, with the well known results, first the schism between East and West and after that the dissolution of the West to the numerous Protestant denominations.

Chateaubriant reminds us that “Christian faith is not a theory, it is not an opinion, it is not a belief:  Christian faith is an experience. It is the name given to what man becomes when God is born in him. This is where it goes. Whoever have not gone through this or don’t wish for such a thing, they are not Christians. A Christian is a man above man, a Christian is a man on whom Christ fulfills His wonders.”
