The Association of Music Critics of Argentine annually selects the best musicians who took part to the last concert season in Buenos Aires.

The event is now at 29th edition and the prizes of the various individual categories (soloists, orchestras, operas, new compositions, revelations …) were awarded on 25th April at Salon San Martin of the “Palacio de la Honorable Legislature” of Buenos Aires at the presence of authorities for the government and music. Among other artists in contest there were musicians of international fame such as Daniel Barenboim, Martha Argerich, Evgeny Kissin, Maxim Vengerov and Alexander Lonquich.

The particular Revelation Prize 2015 was assigned to the Italian pianist Alessandro Cesaro for his brilliant interpretation of Sonatas by Scriabin and some pieces by Liszt played in a Recital at the Spanish-American Museum “Fernandez Blanco”. Cesaro was also the only Italian soloist to be selected.

The same enthusiasm was repeated at the “55° Setiembre Musical” of San Miguel de Tucuman, one of the most important Festivals in South America. For his personal interpretations he is invited in Argentina also for next September.

Alessandro Cesaro is an old friend of these pages, thus we have a special reason to be excited with his achievement!

Some of his recordings are available in CD or MP3 audio, at Amazon.
